Em Xangai

In China nowadays everything is about being "decadent".

The most decadent brunches, the most decadent bars, the most decadent hotels, shopping centers, restaurants, etc...

A rapidly rising upper middle class looks to feast on the new found riches. The traditional Chinese phislosophy of saving for a better day is long gone and nowadays it's all about wanting and getting the best NOW!

The german SUVs and the italian coupes, the 5 star restaurants, the 5.000 USD dresses, the 10.000 USD watches, the 2 million dollar houses and the 100 stories high-rises.

The Shangri-La where I'm staying is as good an example as any.

Just check out the Chi Spa (first the pictures and the available treatments, then the prices...). I've been there. It's amazing. Dragonfly and Green Message, envy. Decadent, really...
